Welcome to Selkie Bindery. On this site you will find the creative works of artist Johanna Finnegan-Topitzer. These works consist of one-of-a-kind leather "Design Bindings" photograph albums, Journals and Book Jackets. Many pieces on this site are for sale and custom commissioned pieces are always welcomed. Each design is unique and reflects a theme, special place or decorative style. In addition to the photo albums, book jackets and journals you can also find the fanciful works of art called "Book Objects" in which the "book form" is used to tell a story. Book Objects, sometimes called Artists Books, are interactive art and are meant to be picked up and "read". The viewer actively participates in the telling of the tale by handling the work and opening the pages. These pieces can be found on display and for sale at galleries and shows.
