School Classroom Workshops
A two-hour workshop especially designed for teachers is available to be taught in your school. This workshop gives basic instructions on how to create simple books with your students. It can be taught after school in an available classroom and materials are provided. Schools must be within 30 miles of Rollinsford, NH.

Books to Create and Inspire
This full-day workshop, ideally suited for art teachers and emerging book arts enthusiasts, investigates book structures from different cultures. Participants will learn the accordion book structure found in China and Mexico, the palm leaf book from Tibet, the Japanese stab-binding, and a European pamphlet stitch. We will discuss how these books can be filled with illustration, text, and pop-up elements. Though all materials are provided, participants are encouraged to bring decorative papers, photographs and other choice collage elements that they might like to incorporate into their projects.

A Leather Bound Book
This workshop will introduce the participants to the centuries old craft of bookbinding by creating one fine book from start to finish. Students will learn about the tools and vocabulary involved in the craft and will learn how to work with the materials. We will be making a Coptic book, one of the oldest forms of a bound book, and covering it in leather. We will decorate the leather using a simple technique. By the end of the workshop, participants in this class will walk away with a solid historical style book that they may use as a journal, sketchbook or the final draft of your novel. Give that Book a Cool Look
This class is specially designed for teens ages 11-14. Come learn how to create a custom book cover for a sketchbook or journal. In this workshop you will learn how to use bookcloth, bookboard and leather to create your own unique cover. This cover holds a blank book (provided) that can be removed and replaced when it becomes full of your beautiful art and fantastic writings! List of things to bring sent upon registration.

Nature and the Book
This class will introduce students to basic ways to create a book as well as ways to use the book structure to expand their creativity. Books can be used to tell stories or convey an idea; they can also stand on their own as sculptural art. Come explore the amazing possibilities of this medium. Though all materials are provided, participants are encouraged to bring decorative papers, photographs and other choice collage elements that they might like to incorporate into their projects.
